About

YogiPodA Mobile Bay area native, I was first introduced to yoga in the early 90’s and began an in-depth study and daily practice in 1996. For 10 years I trained in Mr. Iyengar’s schools where I learned yoga from a Classical yoga perspective. For the past few years I have been studying and immersing myself in John Friend’s Anusara tradition which comes from Tantra yoga philosophy. I am pursuing Anusara-Inspired teaching status.

I have studied yoga with some of the most renowned teachers in the country including Joan White, John Friend, Seane Corn, Saul Raye, Erich Schiffman, Natasha Rizopoulous, Aadil Palkhivala, Judith Lasater, and more. I studied Thai Yoga and Ayurveda with Saul Raye at The White Lotus Foundation in Ojai, California, and at The Lotus Palm School in Montreal, Canada. I am also a certified Spinning instructor.

A Roman Catholic, my husband, Burke Ingraffia, and I are parishioners at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in the Arts District in New Orleans. We regularly attend the traditional Latin Mass Rite. It is a rare and beautiful Catholic ritual practice that incorporates singing and chanting in Latin as part of the devotional to God. I am interested in the beauty and value of all spiritual beliefs, practices, and rituals especially the similarities amongst them. I have had the privilege to attend sermons and teachings of Reverend Stanley Klores, Reverend Johnny Savoie, Sogyal Rinpoche, Ravi Shankar, and Thich Nhat Hanh.

During my first year of practicing yoga consistently, I lost 70 pounds. I attribute the loss and maintenance to simply adopting a healthy, balanced, yogic lifestyle. Having personally experienced the transformative and life saving effects of yoga, I am passionate and dedicated to sharing the knowledge and skills I have learned on her journey.

I teach in what I think is a unique style, giving students tools to work toward healthier minds and bodies. My classes are designed around the teaching methodologies of Anusara’s Universal Principles of Alignment and its underlying philosophical origins.

My classes are student oriented. I assess every person in the room and tailor the class to fit the needs of everybody. I pride myself on creating a safe, comfortable, and fun atmosphere for anyone who wishes to learn yoga.

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and have taught yoga in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Point Clear, and Fairhope.
